Dr. George Yang is Chief Economist at the ZGC Shiner Investment and Management Co. Ltd, responsible for the design, development and operational management of high technology investment funds provided to the companies in ZGC Science Park. This makes him familiar with the investment environment and the regulatory policies in the ZGC area. He is well connected with many high tech companies.

Previously, Dr. Yang worked for Peoples Bank of China for nine years. His was responsible for supervising the financial business operations of financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, and securities companies in China. He is very familiar with business operations of various financial institutions and has wide connections in the Chinese financial sector. Before that, Dr. Yang worked for the World Bank for two years performing research on the Chinese financial sector development and providing World Bank Technical Assistance to the sector. He had solid working experienced with several international organizations. Before that, Dr. Yang also worked for a security company.

Dr. Yang received his PhD in macroeconomics from the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) in 1998. He held a MS in international finance from the Graduate School of Peoples Bank of China in 1993 and a BS in Mathematics from the Lanzhou University in 1987.
