Dr. Rong is the chair of MIT Sloan CIO Symposium, a community of global CIOs and corporate executives with annual conference at MIT. Dr. Rong has been a leader in product innovation and corporate development. He has consulted for many Fortune 1000 companies for IT leadership, web strategy, business development and innovation leadership. He has led collaborative research in North America, Asia and Europe, and is currently leading the development of a novel system for financial information and social analytics.
With excellent balance of business acumen and technical aptitude, Dr. Rong has proven leadership skills in key senior roles with Vignette Corporation and Harte-Hanks. He was on the faculty in JiangNan University in China and held an EU research fellowship in the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
As an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow in MIT Sloan School of Management, Dr. Rong focused on corporate strategy, innovation leadership and global development. He lectures in Harvard, MIT and overseas. He is on the board of multiple organizations, including the MIT Sloan Alumni Club of Boston and Massachusetts IT Security Research Center.
Dr. Rong holds an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and PhD from University of Guelph in Canada.
